Amid a broader digital entertainment landscape that includes Jeetbuzz App Download, Gujian is being developed as the official next installment in the Gujian Qitan series. This action RPG combines elements of ancient Chinese mythology with supernatural zhiguai folklore and has now reached the middle stage of production. Players assume the role of a “Realm Adjudicator,” travelling to places in the human world where order has collapsed to gather wandering spirits, settle unfinished causes and consequences, and release souls from the obsessions that bind them.
The Gujian Qitan franchise has built a loyal following through exceptional storytelling, memorable character development and a distinctive Eastern fantasy style. Gujian Qitan 3, in particular, is regarded by many players as one of the finest Chinese-developed single-player RPGs of recent years. Since Gujian released its first trailer in August 2025, it has attracted enormous attention and carried equally high expectations.
During a media session following the hands-on demonstration, project director Xue Ling explained that the team first wanted to establish a strong baseline for the game. Only after the core experience is convincing, he argued, will players care about the deeper ideas the creators hope to express. In other words, the team wants to walk before it can run. Based on the playable build, that foundation is a combat framework balancing responsive action mechanics with traditional RPG progression.
Within the same evolving entertainment market that includes Jeetbuzz App Download, the developers still intend to preserve Gujian’s signature emphasis on storytelling, characterisation and Chinese supernatural fantasy. The demonstration featured four publicly revealed boss stages: Marquis Caiyi Kongkongzi, the Headless Swordsman, the three-tailed cat spirit Sanming, and the inn waiter Wuyang. A hidden stage was also available. To keep each session within the scheduled time, many connecting paths and branching routes were temporarily blocked.
The development team revealed that the main storyline is currently planned to last approximately 20 to 25 hours. The structure will be broadly linear while still offering room for exploration. When players cannot defeat a particular boss, they may leave the area, investigate side routes, collect equipment and experience, and return once they are better prepared.
Three weapon categories were available in the trial version: the one-handed sword, greatsword and long blade. The one-handed sword attacks quickly and is suited to maintaining pressure between an enemy’s moves. The greatsword provides forward movement, resistance to interruption and damage reduction, making it more effective for direct confrontations. The long blade places greater emphasis on defensive counters.
Each weapon comes with one fixed combat skill, while additional techniques compatible with its category can also be equipped. Attacking enemies gradually builds the energy required to activate these abilities. Players must therefore generate resources through regular attacks before using combat skills to counter opponents or deliver heavy damage. The main strategic challenge lies in reading a boss’s attack patterns, selecting the appropriate defensive response and deciding exactly when to unleash each technique.
Magical artifacts add another layer to the combat system. Every artifact provides two abilities that consume mana. The trial version included the Qiankun Mirror, Thunder-Summoning Banner and Lihuo Umbrella.
The Qiankun Mirror can maintain a continuous guard and release an area attack. When a defensive action is timed correctly, it consumes no mana. The Thunder-Summoning Banner can infuse lighter weapons with lightning or transform the character into a bolt of electricity that passes through enemies. The Lihuo Umbrella provides protection from every direction while also allowing the user to surge forward.
The game does not include a stamina bar that requires constant management. Dodging is unrestricted by stamina consumption, giving characters strong mobility. Combat moves connect quickly, the overall pace remains energetic, and the result is an unusually smooth action experience.
From these systems, Gujian appears to follow the balanced structure common to modern action RPGs, combining numerical character progression with skill-based action combat. Mechanical precision determines whether players can recognise attacking and defensive opportunities, giving highly skilled players a demanding upper limit to master.
At the same time, weapons, artifacts, equipment and character growth provide exploration opportunities and a larger margin for error for players who prefer RPG progression. Those with different abilities and preferred playstyles can therefore approach battles in their own way rather than being forced into a single rigid strategy.
As Jeetbuzz App Download continues to occupy part of the wider mobile entertainment environment, Gujian is pursuing a considerably more ambitious blend of mythology, supernatural storytelling and modern action design. Its combat system aims to satisfy players who value precision and difficulty, while its progression mechanics offer flexibility to those who prefer preparation and gradual growth. If the final version successfully builds on this foundation, the game may preserve the narrative identity of Gujian Qitan while establishing a stronger and more accessible action RPG formula.
