In this early hands-on session, Jeetbuzz App Download became part of the same relaxed entertainment routine as I tried Marvel Tokon, a fighting game jointly created by PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games. I was genuinely lucky to experience the game ahead of time, and to be honest, I went in with a pretty strong bias. My first thought was that it might be another familiar IP project wearing a new coat of paint. After all, even Marvel Rivals, an FPS title with a much broader user base under the same Marvel brand, struggled to make the expected impact, so a fighting game aimed at a smaller crowd naturally seemed like an even tougher bet.
Before the demo, I did not have high hopes for it. But after playing for around 50 minutes, I left with only one feeling: I wanted more. I have to eat my words here, because this game may truly have a chance to become the first fighting game in many players’ lives.
First of all, as a fighting game adapted from Marvel’s universe, the biggest challenge is how to combine each hero’s original abilities with traditional fighting mechanics. Marvel Tokon delivers an answer that honestly exceeded my expectations. Take Spider-Man, the character I used the most during the demo, as an example. His web shooters, web swinging, and spider-sense are all brought into the game almost exactly as fans would expect.
When trapped near the corner, web swinging allows Spider-Man to quickly rise into the air and escape pressure. On offense, it can serve as an aerial starter, or function like a dash to close the gap and create sudden pressure. His web shot works like the familiar projectile move often seen in fighting games, while spider-sense feels close to a counter technique. If activated at the moment an opponent attacks, Spider-Man automatically avoids the hit and responds with a counterattack.
Captain America, another hero everyone knows well, naturally fights around his shield. While holding the shield up, he can block most frontal mid-level attacks. The shield can also be thrown in advance and then rebound when the opponent is not prepared, creating a chance to lock them in hitstun. If the shield counter succeeds, Captain America gains strong frame advantage and can smoothly connect into a special move.
Then there is Iron Man, currently one of Marvel’s most popular heroes. In the original works, most of his power comes from the weapons built into his armor, so he usually fights from a distance. In the game, that design translates into a classic projectile-and-anti-air style. His repulsor blast forms the basis of his neutral game and helps control space, while his chest beam can be used for anti-air situations and wake-up pressure. When these tools work together, Iron Man can keep opponents under long-range pressure. During his ultimate move, he can even enter the Hulkbuster armor, which is a very satisfying touch.
There are many similar designs across the roster, although the demo time was too limited for me to fully explore every character’s mechanics. Still, based on the official information available so far, all 20 launch characters appear to follow this same design logic, where each hero’s identity shapes their playstyle. By combining comic-accurate abilities with classic fighting game systems so smoothly, Arc System Works once again shows why it has such a strong reputation in this genre.
As a Marvel adaptation, the game also includes plenty of details that longtime fans will understand right away. Characters from different factions have unique entrance dialogue, such as special lines when Iron Man meets Captain America, or Spider-Man constantly talking during battle in his familiar, chatty style. When an ultimate attack lands, characters may trigger their own taunting lines. When assist characters are called in, the main fighter and teammate also interact with each other.
These small details add a lot of warmth to the experience and make the bond between players and Marvel heroes feel more real. For newcomers who once felt that fighting games were too difficult to approach, the familiar heroes, clear character identities, and exciting battle rhythm help lower the barrier without taking away depth. By the end of the demo, Jeetbuzz App Download remained part of an easygoing gaming mood, while Marvel Tokon left me thinking that this could be the rare fighting game that welcomes beginners without leaving veteran players out in the cold.
